The Stamford Symphony had already grown beyond its namesake city; but its name contributed to a misunderstanding of its ambition to spread the light of orchestral music to all of Fairfield county.

Like fireworks and sunflare


The new logo references the rays of the sun radiating out from the orchestra to spread music's illumination across the landscape. It promises to bring excitement and dynamism to the world of orchestral music. Its simple geometry, composed of a complex ordering of distinct parts, adds a sense of diversity and interconnectedness that mirrors the diverse, interconnected communities the orchestra serves.

Clear and concise approaches to the elements of design, centered around a light- and nature-inspired palette, provide a broad range of opportunities for visual variety and exploration.

Season brochure
The first season brochure helped launch the new brand with a dramatic typography-driven cover that helped set expectations for new, vibrant take on the orchestral music experience.

A flexible palette for dynamic media environments
The visual brand pivots on dramatic juxtapositions of light and dark while maintaining visual coherence, helping to illuminate the vast range of emotion and energy accessible through orchestral music (and helping to maintain interesting variety across multiple communications channels).

The second season brochure expanded visual brand expression and helped cement the new visual brand for patrons.
